HONOR Magic X foldable phone might arrive by the end of 2021

Reports are suggesting that HONOR are lining up to launch its Magic X foldable phone by the end of this year.

Although there’s no confirmation, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to think it will borrow innovations from Huawei’s own Mate X2; but because HONOR is now its own entity, they can actually release their foldable with Google Mobile Services.

HONOR’s departure from Huawei was a necessary move from both parties as the US sanctions tightened on the latter, and this decision was made to keep the HONOR alive. HONOR was sold to Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology, a company owned by Chinese state-owned Shenzhen Assets Supervision and Administration Commission.

Huawei no longer holds any shares in HONOR or will be involved in any business management or decision-making for the brand. With that said, HONOR’s recent products clearly have Huawei influences – think the HONOR 50, and the MagicBook series.

These are only speculations so far, but we’ll keep you posted when we get solid information.
