Honor launches Honor 8X in Malaysia

Honor has officially unveiled the Honor 8X in Malaysia today.

The Honor 8X comes with a 6.5inch LTPS display with 91% screen-to-body ratio and has multiple-point touch-sensitive screen. The bottom border’s width is of 4.25mm, which is the narrowest among the mid-range smartphones. It has also adapted a new technology known as Innovative Antenna Technology to ensure that the smartphone is able to perform effectively even with the narrow bottom border.

Powered by the Kirin 710 octa-core processor and supported by 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage, the Honor 8X ships with Huawei’s EMUI 8.2 based on Android 8.0. Like most midrange smartphones, the Honor 8X comes with a tri-slot SIM tray which allows you to insert two SIM cards and expand storage without any compromises. The Honor 8X has a 3750mAh battery that should last you a full day of extensive use.

In terms of cameras, the Honor 8X has a dual AI camera which comprises of a 20MP primary sensor with a f/1.8 aperture and is supported by a 2MP depth sensor, the camera’s software intelligently identifies scenes and objects, then optimises the picture quality. In addition, the P20 Pro’s AI Enabled Multi-frame Stabilisation (AIS) in Honor 8X, which aids super low-light shooting, resulting in bright and clear pictures.

The front camera on the other hand, is a 16MP sensor with a f/2.0 aperture, which is a rather high resolution selfie camera and also supports AI scene recognition, therefore even when you’re taking selfies, it is able to differentiate between a subject and its background and enhance the vibrancy of the picture.

Other features of the Honor 8X include calls enhancement which can detect when you are at an environment with weak signals and enhance it for better communication, and noise cancellation to ensure you can send your audio messages without the interference of background noises. The display is integrated with low blue light imaging protection, whereby users can have longer screen time without damaging their eyesights.

The Honor 8X is available in blue and black and is priced at RM 949. The online sales starts on 12 October at 10AM at hihonor.com and Shopee, and its offline mall roadshow starts from 13 October to 14 October in Mytown KL. Purchasers of Honor 8X will not only own the smartphone itself, but also get a free flip cover, gift box and RM 100 voucher for online purchasers or RM 50 voucher for offline purchasers, along with the Honor Band 3.
