HONOR recently launched an Early Access Program for HONOR fans, but you don’t have to worry if you’re not one of the winners or if you didn’t join the program because the HONOR 9X will be launching soon this month. From what we’ve seen online, the device is already confirmed to come with a pop-up selfie lens on the front and a triple rear camera setup on its rear.
Apart from that, the HONOR 9X also has a 6.59-inch LCD FullView display with 91% screen-to-body ratio. It comes with a physical fingerprint scanner and will be available in two colour options — Midnight Black and Sapphire Blue. In addition to a dual 3D curved panel that offers better ergonomics, the HONOR 9X still sports a 3.5mm audio jack which is located next to its USB Type-C charging port.
You might be worried about the pop-up camera on the HONOR 9X, but there’s no need to worry as it comes with intelligent fall detection, downward pressure protection and dust and splash resistant. The HONOR 9X houses a 16MP front camera and a 48MP primary lens paired with an 8MP super-wide angle lens and a 2MP depth sensor on its rear. This is the first time that HONOR introduces a 48MP sensor to its midrange series and better yet, the sensor size is similar to the ones found in its flagship devices.
The question is, will HONOR 9X face the same fate as the Huawei Mate 30 series? Thankfully, the device has been confirmed to be integrated with Google Mobile Services (GMS), so rest assured that you’ll still be getting Google Play Store, Google Drive and other Google services when you purchase this phone.
Apart from that, the HONOR 9X will be integrated with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. It will also be shipped with EMUI 9.1 based on Android 9 and holds a 4,000mAh battery with 10W charging.
