Just recently, Huawei unveiled its first ever smartphone that comes with dual cameras both on the rear and front sides. The Huawei Nova 2i made its debut in Malaysia, in contention for one of the best mid range smartphones with a full screen display on the front. In conjunction with Huawei subsidiary Honor’s third anniversary in India, the company has launched the Nova 2i under its own branding in the country.
Meet the Honor 9i, another full screen mid range device that has entered the tightly contested mid range market in India. It is the exact same device as the Huawei Nova 2i, with the only difference being the Honor branding on the back panel of the device. The display is of Full HD+ resolution, measuring at 5.9-inches, with minimal bezels surrounding it.
The rest of the specs remain the same like the Huawei Nova 2i. The Honor 9i features Huawei’s own octa core Kirin 659 processor underneath the hood with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The interesting bit comes into play when you look at the Honor 9i’s cameras. The dual rear camera setup consists of 16MP + 2MP sensors while the front facing camera setup sports two cameras as well at 13MP + 2MP. Both dual camera setups are made to capture images with blurred background effects. The Honor 9i packs a 3,340mAh battery, which should be sufficient for its power consumption.
The Honor 9i will be sold in India through Flipkart beginning October 14. The mid range goes with a price tag of INR 17,999 (RM 1,168.44).
