Honor 8 Pro receives Oreo software with EMUI 8.0

The Honor 8 Pro is probably one of the most underrated phones of 2017. Released by Huawei’s sub brand Honor earlier this year in April, the phone has now gotten the Android Oreo treatment in beta form, topped with Huawei’s own EMUI 8.0. Honor 8 Pro users are welcome to test out the Android Oreo beta software before it gets released to the general public.

Just to recap, the Honor 8 Pro packs some serious specs and fire power. It is powered by the same Kirin 960 chipset that is seen underneath the hoods of Huawei’s Mate 9 and P10 flagships, along with a staggering 6GB of RAM. Not only that, it takes things up a notch with a sharp QHD display at 5.7-inches. The phone sports a dual rear camera setup of 12MP + 12MP and an 8MP shooter on the front for selfies. The Honor 8 Pro might have aged a little, but it is definitely a good steal for its new price tag of RM 1,799.

The Android Oreo beta software for the Honor 8 Pro will include the usual suspects that come with Google’s latest OS – Picture-in-picture support, notification dots and more. If you’re an Honor 8 Pro user, click here to download the Friendly User Beta app from Huawei. You will need to login with your Huawei ID on the app before downloading the beta software. Let us know after you’ve tested Android Oreo on your Honor 8 Pro!
