Honda has extended their Sensing technology to another car in the latest event they held yesterday. The new Honda Odyssey, being the third model after the CR-V and New Accord, will come equipped with Honda Sensing to offer the best safety technology to its consumers.
Honda Sensing is divided into two parts, safety and comfort with the first bring about features like Forward Collision Warning which will warn you if the system detects risk of collision, Collision Mitigation Braking System which will apply breaks when it senses a collision will happen, Lane Departure Warning to warn you if you are driving out of lane and Road Departure Mitigation to prevent driving off-road by applying breaks and assisting steering.
On the comfort side, it comes with Adaptive Cruise Control which can set a speed and control speed based on the car in front and Lane Keep Assist System by using cameras to detect lane markings on the road and keep the car in the centre of the lane.
The New Odyssey comes with much improvements from its previous model. Aesthetically, it comes with a new front bumper, front grille, new LED rear lights designs, LED fog lights, 17-inch Dual Tone Alloy Wheel, Auto Retractable Door mirror and Auto Dim Rear View Mirror. The interior has also received some upgrades like bigger armrest for the driver seat, 4-way Passenger Power Seat and bigger headrest for its Premium Captain Cradle Seats with Ottoman on the second row for comfort and enjoyment especially on long trips. Performance wise the New Odyssey comes with a 2.4L DOHC i-VTEC engine with CVT which offers dynamic acceleration and fuel efficiency.
The New Odyssey comes in only one variant and will be priced at RM254,800 without insurance, it will be available in three colours, Platinum White Pearl, Premium Twinkle Black Pearl and the popular Super Platinum Metallic. The car is now open for booking at all Honda dealers and comes with a 5-year warranty with unlimited mileage and service interval of 10,000km.
