High iPhone 11 demand and launch of iPhone SE 2 will increase iPhone sales in Q1 2020

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is predicting the sales of iPhones to increase in Q1 2020 due to the high demand of iPhone 11 series and also launch of the iPhone SE 2.

The iPhone SE 2 is expected to take on the form factor and design on the iPhone 8, but sports the latest A13 chip and also 3GB RAM. It will definitely be a more affordable option for those who wants to upgrade from their iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus and if Kuo is right, the iPhone SE 2 will skip Face ID and remain loyal to Touch ID.

He also predicted the iPhone 11 series to reach between 70 and 75 million units in 2019 because the iPhone 11 has a more affordable price — lower than the iPhone XR when it was first launch. The iPhone 11 Pro series will have lower shipments when compared to iPhone XS due to the difficulties in producing specific iPhone 11 Pro components.

However, the iPhone 11 will have increased shipments compared to its predecessor as it was also launched earlier compared to the iPhone XR. Moreover, with the high replacement demand, Kuo believes that the shipments will remain higher than the iPhone XR even when it reaches the first quarter of 2020.
