Here’s the official price of the Mi Note 2 in Malaysia

After the alleged price leak on Lazada Malaysia yesterday, Xiaomi has finally unveiled the Mi Note 2’s pricing. The Malaysian counterpart of the Chinese manufacturer made the announcement just moments ago on its Facebook page Mi Malaysia. Considering the amount of power the Mi Note 2 packs under its sleeves, its given price tag certainly sounds like quite the steal.

As speculated yesterday, the Mi Note 2 has been priced in Malaysia at RM2,499 instead of the leaked RM2,799 price seen on the Lazada online store. Xiaomi has indicated that the the Mi Note 2 in Malaysia will be the Global Edition and not the Chinese variant which consists of the Standard and Premium Edition. This means that the Mi Note 2 here packs 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone features a Snapdragon 821 processor, seen in last year’s later flagships, including the LG G6 that was launched earlier this year.

The display size puts the Mi Note 2 into phablet category, measuring at 5.7-inches in 1080p resolution. The power packed spec sheet also includes 22.56MP high resolution PDAF rear camera equipped with EIS plus a front facing shooter of 8 megapixels. It packs a 4,070mAh battery which supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 via the USB Type-C port.

The Mi Note 2 will be available for sale nationwide on April 21 this Saturday on Xiaomi’s official Lazada store channel and selected stores which will be announced. The phone will also conincide with the first ever Mi Authorized Reseller Store official launch in Penang this coming weekend. What do you think of the Malaysian pricing for the Mi Note 2?
