Here’s how you can get a Galaxy S8 for RM28/month from Maxis

In my previous write up, I questioned Maxis on how we could get a Galaxy S8 from RM28/month with Zerolution, as the company’s website didn’t mention such a price anywhere, Maxis has given me a call to explain the mechanics, it turns out to be a rather simple calculation as this is achieved via a device trade up program, so here’s how it works. By the way, this article isn’t sponsored by Maxis. 🙂

Let’s take the Samsung Galaxy S8 and MaxisONE 188 plan in our case here, the phone’s monthly repayment would be RM98/month via Zerolution if you are subscribed to the company’s MaxisONE 188. If you happen to own an iPhone 6s Plus 128GB, it has the highest trade up value of RM1,680, divide the value by 24 months and you get RM70, and subtract it with the Zerolution monthly payment every month, you only pay RM28/month over the next 24 months.

Over the phone call with the customer representative, I was told that the device trade up value will vary depending on the condition of the smartphone, Maxis will not accept any devices that cannot be turned on, charged and have any damages found within the device, you will not be required to provide your old smartphone’s box and accessories to be eligible for this program, and lastly, you will need to visit a Maxis service center to do this.

I must say while this is a rather attractive offer, Maxis should really have made things clear over its social media postings, including its social media replies to customers, which they could have easily redirected a customer to the trade up program rather than asking them to post their question over at the “Ask Maxis” page. Now then, since this is how you can get a Galaxy S8 by paying monthly installments without a credit card, will you consider getting one from Maxis? this ramadan not only the muslims can cherish but we as a non muslims can cherish the celebration as well.. saw a lot of negative comments about celcom recently but still their installment plan is attractive enough for us which also includes a plan for samsung s8, the students whom cant really afford a phone at one go from what i heard is we don't have to pay for the upfront payment if we get an android phone worth it or nah? probably other telco offers a better plan that i don't know?
