Google updates its stock Android keyboard with new features

Google has just released an update for Android’s stock keyboard, and with said update comes a ton of new features.

With version 5.0 of Google Keyboard, the keyboard app will be receiving features such as Gesture Typing, allowing you to slide your finger from letter to letter much like Swype. Also new to Google Keyboard is Voice Typing whereby touching the microphone symbol will allow you to dictate your text. A particularly welcomed addition to Google Keyboard v5.0 is one-handed mode, which allows you to type out your messages with only one hand.

Aside from the new features, Google Keyboard has also received a few UI tweaks in its v5.0 update. Chief among these tweaks is the option to show key boards and the removal of holo themes. Keyboard height can also be changed in the settings now, which is useful for those using tablets.

Google Keyboard v5.0 is now available in the Google Play Store.
