Google releases Google Earth VR

Do you wanna travel the world from the comforts of your own home? If you have a HTC Vive, you can, because Google has just released Google Earth VR today.

Available right now on Steam, Google Earth VR is a free application that would take you on a cinematic tour to some of Earth’s biggest attractions. For example, some of the places you can visit right now on Google Earth VR includes the Amazon River, the Grand Canyon, the Swiss Alps and more.

The list of attractions isn’t just limited to natural attractions as the app also includes tours of cities such as the Island of Manhattan, Rio de Janeiro and the Tokyo Tower. If you’re tired of visiting places on Earth, you can always zoom out to space and see the entire planet instead.

For now, Google Earth VR is currently limited to the HTC Vive headset. Support for other platforms will be available in the future, including Daydream, so you will eventually be able to explore the world through your smartphone.
