Google released Datally to manage your mobile data usage

Google has released an app that will help you better understand, control and save data by showing you apps that are using excess data or just generally monitor the data usage of the apps you have installed.

The app will do mainly three things, understand your data by showing you hourly, daily, weekly or monthly data usage and recommend to you how you can save data. Next is the Data Saver bubble to block background data usage and track real-time data usage and block them with a tap if they are using too much data. Lastly, it will tell you when you are near a public WiFi and help you connect to the network to help keep your data quota from depleting.

The app was being tested in the Philippines for the past few months and it managed to save up to 30 percent of the citizens’ data. Now it is available globally and you can download the app from the Play Store if you have a phone running on Android Lolipop and above.
