For much of yesterday, leaks of Google’s Pixel 4 were leaked – at this point we know how it’s going to look like already. With its square camera module at the back and sizeable top bezel, the Google Pixel 4 looks to be a notchless device.

Many speculated that Google allowed those with access to Pixel 4 demo units to publish their content online as a means to pull attention away from the new iPhone – and its worked. Not only have we seen a much more bearable camera module (one that doesn’t conjure tropophobia triggers), we now have an idea of how well it will run mobile games.

A video online by ReLab shows off the Pixel 4XL in all its glory (and it looks gorgeous), as well as put its chips to the test with a game of PUBG. With a Snapdragon 855 chipset, the phone runs PUBG Mobile at max graphics settings with no stutter at all. The phone comes with a 90Hz screen, but it looks like the game runs at a sub-60FPS rate.

One issue however, is that the PUBG Mobile isn’t quite optimized for the phone yet – the UI is cropped off towards the edges – but since these are demo units being shown off, the final product should fare much better. Overall, it looks like Google are set to give Apple a run for their money, with what looks to be a series of very good Pixel phones.
