Google Pixel 3a press render leaks ahead of formal launch on May 7

Google recently teased some sort of a hardware announcement at its upcoming I/O 2019 event on May 7. Even though the Mountain View-based company did not specify its plans, many are speculating that it could unveil the rumored mid-range Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL smartphones at the event. A press render of the upcoming Pixel 3a has now been leaked online, seemingly confirming the launch date.

As shown by previously leaked renders, the Google Pixel 3a will look nothing like other mid-range Android smartphones that have been released so far this year. For the most part, the Pixel 3a looks very similar to the Pixel 3 devices. While it has no notch, the bezels are significantly larger than what is expected in 2019.

In addition to giving us a clearer look at the smartphone’s design, the press render confirms that the device will indeed launch on May 7. In case you aren’t aware, May 7 will be the first day of Google I/O 2019. Along with the Pixel 3a, Google will also announce the Pixel 3a XL with a slightly larger display and a more powerful chipset.

The Google Pixel 3a is rumored to feature a Full HD+ resolution display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 octa-core processor, 4GB RAM, and a 12.2MP rear camera. If rumors are to be believed, the smartphone will be priced slightly on the higher side when compared to its rivals.
