We’ve long been expecting a Google Pixel 3 Lite but according to 9to5Google, the mid-range Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will instead be named Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL.

9to5Google also confirmed several specs of the phone, stating that the previous renders done by @OnLeaks and 91Mobiles of the Google Pixel 3 Lite and 3 XL Lite are accurate and matches the 3a and 3a XL. The Pixel 3a will have a 5.6-inch OLED display, a slightly larger screen than the Pixel 3, while the 6-inch Pixel 3a XL will have a slightly smaller display compared to the 6.3-inch Pixel 3 XL.

The Pixel 3a is also said to sport a 3,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging, in addition to having a Snapdragon 670 processor and 4GB RAM paired with 64GB storage. The camera specs will also be similar in which the Pixel 3a will come with a 8MP front camera and a 12MP rear camera.

Despite being a lite version, the two new Pixels will still have many features from the Pixel 3 series; it still gets the Active Edge feature, the Titan M security chip and eSIM.

Hopefully in time there’ll be more clarity on both the Pixels, but we’ll be expecting them to arrive sometime this year.
