Google Photos introduces Memories, a feature combining Facebook Memories and Instagram Stories

Almost everyone is hooked onto Instagram Stories, so it’s no surprise that Google Photos is “inspired” to do the same by adding a new feature called “Memories”.

The new feature is like a combination of Instagram Stories and Facebook Memories where you get to check out your old pictures dated a year ago and so on. This collection of photos appear in small circles similar to Instagram Stories, but don’t worry, not all of your photos will be shown.

This new feature should be replacing the feature known as “Rediscover this day”, found under the Assistant tab. David Lieb, product lead for Google Photos also mentioned that “Not all memories are created equal,” so you can also choose to disable this feature or hide certain time periods and people.

This new feature is currently rolling out to both Android and iOS users so if your Google Photos doesn’t have it yet, just be patient.
