Portrait mode has been one of the features that attract the attention of smartphone users, especially those who love taking selfies and now with Google Photo’s new update for iOS users, users can use the app to adjust the background blur of their portrait photos.
The new feature known as Depth Slider is already available last month for Android users though it wasn’t made available for all devices, just several supported ones. The feature is appearing for the first time in Google Photo for iOS but the current available version has not shown the feature yet so it might be out after awhile.
For the new feature to work, the photos need to be portrait photos that supports depth data. This means that it will work on portrait photos taken on the iPhones that have dual camera, and probably also the portrait photos taken on the iPhone XR.
Besides that, the new update also includes a Colour Pop feature which can desaturate the colour of your background while your subject remains coloured and vibrant. This feature is called colour pop probably because it makes the subject and the colours on the subject look even more prominent as the background loses its saturation which highlights the subject.
