Google Meet gets noise cancellation on iOS and Android

The noise cancellation feature in Google Meet is now rolling out to Android and iOS, allowing users to reduce environmental noise when they’re on a Google Meet call.

Google Meet noise cancellation already available on web

First introduced in June, Google Meet’s noise cancellation is automatically turned on for web users but turned off by default on mobile. Users will have to check their call settings to activate the feature. Google also stated that the new feature is only available to G Suite Enterprise and G Suite Enterprise for Education customers and it’s not available in some countries.

VentureBeat also posted a video previously in which Serge Lachapelle, G Suite’s Director of Product Management, tested out the new feature in which the noise cancellation technology reduced the surrounding noises in his room.

Google says that the feature is rolling out in one to three days starting September 28, 2020.
