Google builds Live Cases for Nexus phones

Google has brought in a series of some pretty cool cases for their own Nexus handsets, and they’re cooler than you think. Known as Live Cases, the case literally comes to life. Snap it onto your Nexus phone and you can begin crafting the magic or the Live Case. So let’s find out where the magic happens.

Live Cases allow you to upload your favorite photo to Google’s Live Case Design Studio. On the web app, you can position your photo as you would see fit to be displayed on the Live Case. You can also customize the photo on the web app with some provided tools by Google for enhancements, including changing color schemes and putting on a hipster filter to mask your photo. The photo will then be displayed on the Live Case, hence the given name.

Apart from using photos, Google also allows users to pick out a part of Maps to be customized and tweaked with the given tools. For example putting a map covering the Great Wall of China, in Pink, Turquoise and Beige color schemes, and zoomed in or out to a degree of your preference. If that isn’t cool I dont know what is. Live Cases interacts with Nexus phones via NFC and it has an additional button on it too, which users can customize for certain actions such as powering up the phone’s flashlight or launching an app.

Live Cases are available for the Nexus 6, and the more recent Nexus 5X and 6P. Coming with a price point of $35 (RM136.09) per case, it doesn’t sound too bad after all considering the fact that you can customize it whenever you want and every individual will probably be donning different Live Cases. What do you think about Live Cases?
