Google brings Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Buds Pro 2 to Malaysia

In addition to the Google Pixel 9 series, Google has also introduced the Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Buds Pro 2 in Malaysia to pair it with their new flagship phones.

Google Pixel Buds Pro 2

The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are powered by Google’s Tensor A1 chip, which is designed to enhance ANC performance and audio processing while maximizing battery life. Compared to the previous model, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 offers double the noise cancellation, adapting to your surroundings up to 3 million times per second.

These earbuds are equipped with 11mm sound drivers that promise powerful bass, along with a high-frequency chamber for smooth treble. They also support spatial audio with head-tracking. Each earbud features three microphones and can be controlled via tap and swipe gestures using its capacitive touch sensor.

With ANC enabled, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 provide up to 8 hours of music playback on a single charge, or up to 30 hours in total with the included charging case. Without ANC, they can last up to 12 hours on a single charge, or up to 48 hours with the case.

The charging case supports both USB-C and Qi wireless charging. A quick 5-minute charge in the case can deliver up to 1.5 hours of listening time with ANC turned off.

In terms of connectivity, the earbuds support Bluetooth 5.4 with LE Audio and Super wideband, and can be paired with any Bluetooth 4.0+ device, including Android, iOS, tablets, and computers. The earbuds have an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, while the case is rated IPX4. The Pixel Buds Pro 2 also come with four sizes of ear tips, with the medium size pre-installed.

Google Pixel Watch 3

The Google Pixel Watch 3 is a Wear OS 5.0-powered smartwatch is driven by a Qualcomm SW5100 chip, supported by 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It comes with a multipurpose electrical sensor that includes optical heart rate monitoring and supports ECG and SpO2 tracking. The watch also features sensors for measuring skin conductance (cEDA) for body response tracking and a skin temperature sensor.

The Google Pixel Watch 3 features a housing made from 100% recycled aluminum and includes an active band made of fluoroelastomer with a soft-touch coating.

Both the 41mm and 45mm variants feature a circular 320ppi AMOLED display, capable of reaching up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness and dropping as low as 1 nit for the always-on display. The LTPO panel supports a variable refresh rate of 1-60Hz and is protected by custom 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5. For navigation, the watch is equipped with a side button and a haptic crown.

The Pixel Watch 3 integrates Fitbit’s health and fitness tracking suite and leverages Google AI to enhance your fitness routine, offering personalized run recommendations and on-wrist guidance through Fitbit Premium.

Battery life on the Pixel Watch 3 is claimed to last up to 24 hours with the always-on display enabled or up to 36 hours with battery saver mode. The 41mm model is equipped with a 307mAh battery, while the 45mm version has a larger 420mAh battery. Charging the 41mm model takes about an hour, while the 45mm model takes approximately 80 minutes using the included USB-C cable.

The Google Pixel Watch 3 is also IP68 and 5ATM rated for dust and water resistance. It is compatible with most smartphones running Android 10.0 or newer.

Pricing and Availability

Unlike the Pixel 9 series, you will not be able to preorder these wearables but you can purchase them at the same official retailers, telcos, Lazada and Shopee at different dates

The Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 can be purchased from 22nd August 2024 onwards, it retails for RM1,099 and comes in four color options: Porcelain, Hazel, Wintergreen, and Peony.

Currently, the Pixel Watch 3 is only available in a WiFi variant, it will be available for purchase starting 10 September 2024 from CelcomDigi, Maxis, Urban Republic, Senheng/SenQ, Shopee, and Lazada with the following prices:

  • Pixel Watch 3 (41mm) WiFi – RM1,849
  • Pixel Watch 3 (45mm) WiFi – RM1,999
