It’s a wonder why Google took so long, but the tech giant finally updates its policy to prohibit advertising for any spyware or surveillance technology.
Google doesn’t want you to spy on your significant other
Google will implement the new policy starting on August 11, 2020. This will prevent unethical parties from promoting any products and services that help one track or monitor another individual without their knowledge.
Parents can still monitor their children
Google also pointed out that its new policy doesn’t include parents who want to track their underage children or private investigation services. Advertisers who violate this policy will be given a warning seven days in advance before a suspension.
