Gmail’s update brings better optimizations for the iPhone X

Gmail is getting an update that makes it more optimized for the iPhone X. Prior to this, there are black borders on the top and bottom of the app which is a waste as it does not utilize the full extent of the screen on the iPhone x.

With this new update, users will see a more utilization of the screen, whereby the app will wrap around the notch at the top and the bottom will have no more black borders, making the experience much better when using the app. In addition to that, Gmail has also added a new feature where they will support adding non-Gmail accounts using IMAP. A feature that a lot of users have been looking forward to, mainly for the ease of use and UI that Gmail has.

Google has been updating their apps to support the iPhone X, where recently they have added support for Google Sheets, Slides and Docs last week, YouTube was also updated which brought better battery optimizations to the iPhone X where previously it used to drain too much battery on the X
