Global version of MIUI 8 currently on the rollout

Worry not, Xiaomi hasn’t forgotten the older Mi handsets, if that’s what you’re wondering. The Chinese manufacturer has announced on its MIUI forums that the all new MIUI 8 is heading to a bunch of Mi phones as we speak. MIUI 8 was first introduced to the public a couple of months back, launched with the colossal phablet – the Mi Max.

MIUI 8 offers a slew of new features, including a redesigned Notes app, a more feature added gallery app, spam filters for the messaging app, plus a new power saving mode, just to name a few. Having released the public beta last month, the MIUI 8 OTA update should be heading your way if you’re using the Redmi 1S, Redmi Note 3G, Redmi Note 4G , Mi 2, Mi 2S, and Mi 4i.

Other devices that will be guaranteed MIUI 8 in the near future include the Redmi 2, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note 3, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 5 and the Mi Note. Further details can be found at the MIUI forums right here, but do note that the site has happened to crash at the time of writing. Have you gotten your OTA update yet?
