Gionee is one of the many smartphone companies that make affordable handsets with respectable spec sheets. Of course, the brand does not have mainstream fame, but it has a couple of smartphones worth having a look at as well, like the Gionee X1s. The Gionee X1s is another reason why selfies might be more important than rear camera shots.
Before we talk about the selfie camera of the Gionee X1s, let’s get some specs out of the way first. On the front, you’ll find a rather mediocre screen at 720p resolution, measuring at 5.2-inches. Underneath the hood, the handset is powered by a quad core MediaTek 6737T processor clocked at 1.5 GHz with 3GB of RAM. Storage might be small at 16GB but is expandable up to 256GB via the micro SD slot.
The rear camera of the Gionee X1s is a standard 13MP sensor. The front facing camera however, is one of the main highlights of this mid range smartphone. At 16MP, the selfie camera is also equipped with a selfie flash, and is capable of producing quality photos and videos with the Face Beauty 2.0 and Beautified Video technology by Gionee. The phone packs a large 4,000mAh battery for its power consumption needs.
The Gionee X1s is an India exclusive device, and will be sold in the country’s major retail stores starting September 21 for a price tag of INR 12,999 (RM 847.32).
