GARMIN launches the new GARMIN INSTINCT for RM 1,450

GARMIN launched its newest watch today, the GARMIN INSTINCT which is an outdoor GPS watch designed for those who like outdoor activities.

The GARMIN INSTINCT is a watch of endurance, with military standard of MIL-STD-810G that has thermal resistance ranging from -20°C to 60°C, shock resistance that allows drop distance of 122cm without any damage and water rating up of 10 ATM that allows up to 100 meters of water resistance, in addition to being corrosion resistant which will allow it to function well in places like the salt-rich maritime environment. The watch also has a fiber-reinforced polymer case and a chemically strengthened glass, which all contributes to the longevity and durability of the watch. The display is also sunlight-visible and monochrome which makes it convenient to be worn out on sunny days because it will not be reflective towards light, and it will have 12 watch faces for users to choose.

Users can also download the Garmin Explore app which can help them plan their trips in advance when they’re out for adventures such as camping and hiking thanks to its ability to download maps and review tracks and activities, and the app comes with a TracBack feature that can show users the same route to go back to their original destination. The app is available for download on both Android and iOS devices for free. Besides that, when it comes to the tracking and navigation capabilities, the GARMIN INSTINCT uses GPS, barometric altimeter, compass and also accelerometer to ensure that users’ location and paths are accurately tracked and they will also be warned when the watch detects bad weathers.

Aside from being useful in outdoor activities, the watch also comes with heart rate monitor that can help users to monitor their daily activity, stress level, sleep and other related data which in turn can help users better manage their mental health. Few of the things that the watch can keep track of includes heart rate, steps taken, distance travelled and calories burn, and the device also supports few activities such as hiking, running, swimming to help uses keep track of their physical health data.

In terms of battery life, the GARMIN INSTINCT has an internal lithium-ion battery that can actually last up to 35 hours on its UltraTrac Battery Saver Mode, 14 hours on its GPS mode, and 14 days on its smartwatch mode. This means that if users are not performing outdoor activities, they can switch off the GPS tracking and use their smartwatch for up to two weeks. Aside from that, the watch is compatible with QuickFit 22mm bands that are available in various materials such as leather, metal and also silicone.

The GARMIN INSTINCT comes in the colours Graphite, Tundra and Flame Red and is priced at RM1,450 and it is available to be purchased at GARMIN headquarters and also concept stores all around Malaysia such as Mid Valley Megamall, 1 Utama Shopping Centre, East Coast Mall and so on.
