Galaxy S8 Active will feature same high end specs as the regular S8

Samsung’s Galaxy Active line are typically exclusive to US carrier AT&T. If you haven’t known, the Galaxy Active devices are essentially rugged variants of the Galaxy S series of annual flagships. Last year saw the launch of the Galaxy S7 Active a couple of months after the Galaxy S7/S7 Edge. Now we’re getting news of the Galaxy S8 Active as it has been allegedly spotted on benchmarking site Geekbench.

According to tech site My Smart Price, a Geekbench result was spotted online of a device with the model number SM-G892A, claimed to be the Samsung Galaxy S8 Active. My Smart Price states that the Geekbench scores for both single core and multi core are pretty similar to that of the regular Galaxy S8. The result also indicates that the device runs an octa core Qualcomm processor with a 1.9 GHz clock speed, presumably the clock speed of the lower four cores. The processor will most likely be the Snapdragon 835, given the fact that the Galaxy S7 and S6 Active sport the same internals as their respective regular counterparts.

Further details of the result suggest that the Galaxy S8 Active will feature 4GB of RAM just like the regular S8. It is also likely that the S8 Active will sport the same display as its regular sibling, but will have rugged features with its design, such as a thicker and protective body according to a recently leaked render.

The Galaxy S8 Active will most likely be an AT&T exclusive as well, like all of its predecessors. Would you get one yourself?
