Final developer build of Android Nougat now available for download

The release of Android Nougat shouldn’t be too far away now that Google has finally released the final developer preview build of the upcoming Android OS to the public.

As expected of the final developer preview build, this version of Android Nougat has had most of its bugs and glitches fixed. Aside from that, a few new features have been added to the build, such as system images for preview devices, an emulator that can be used to do final testing of apps, updates to system behaviours and the UI, as well as the final N APIs (API level 24). While Android Nougat is now much more stable than its previous builds, do keep in mind that, as is the case with all preview builds, Android Nougat may still contain bugs or instabilities, so download the preview build at your own risk.

Google has yet to give a solid release date for the release of Android Nougat, opting instead for a somewhat vague “later this summer” window. For those of you who are interested in the technical side of Android Nougat, do note that the Android Engineering Team will be doing an AMA at the r/androiddev subreddit on the 20th of July (tomorrow) at 3am – 5am local time.
