Filmic’s DoubleTake lets you shoot videos with two lenses on your iPhone simultaneously

When the new iPhones were launched last year, Filmic made an appearance on stage with its app that could maximize the potential of the iPhone 11 Pro’s triple camera. It was well-received during its presentation in September 2019 and now it’s finally here.

Unlike what we’ve expected, Filmic introduced this feature as a new app called DoubleTake. It is an iOS exclusive app that will only work with iPhones, iPad and iPod touch that are updated to iOS 13 and later.

The camera app is pretty simple; there are three modes that you can choose from — Split Screen mode, PiP mode and Discrete mode. With the iPhone 11, you can pick from the front lens, the wide lens and the ultra-wide lens and with the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max, you get the extra telephoto lens. You can also pick different frame rates — 24fps, 25fps, 30fps —with 1080p recording because there’s no 4k recording as of now.

While DoubleTake is free for download, it will also be included in Filmic Pro — the paid app — later this year. The Filmic Pro app will, however, cost you RM59.90.
