With FBI able to successfully unlock the iPhone 5C of the San Bernardino shooter, the agency is now ready to assist the American police in cracking all other devices they currently have possession of.

In a letter sent by the FBI to local authorities, the agency stated that it understands the challenges they face and that they lack necessary tools to monitor and investigate the communications of suspects who use encrypted mobile devices. “As has been our longstanding policy, the FBI will of course consider any tool that might be helpful to our partners. Please know that we will continue to do everything we can to help you consistent with our legal and policy constraints,” says the FBI. The FBI has since been lending their expertise by helping the Arkansas prosecutor to unlock an iPhone and iPod belonging to two teenagers accused of killing the couple

Apple, of course, has taken note that the FBI has (allegedly) managed to crack the encryption of the iPhone and has since warned that the method won’t remain a secret for long. The company has stated that once the method is exposed, Apple’s engineers would be ready to plug the hole that the FBI found.
