Facebook Watch is a new video streaming platform to rival YouTube

Facebook has decided that YouTube is becoming too big and they like to dethrone them by releasing Facebook Watch, a platform for content creators to post up videos, live or pre-recorded and some of the shows will even come in episodes that will follow a theme or storyline.

Shows will also be organised based on the community, you can find sections like “Most Talked About”, “What’s Making People Laugh” and even “What Friends Are Watching”. Commenting and liking on videos is also part of the experience, users will be given the chance to see comments and connect with friends and other viewers while watching, you can also participate in a dedicated Facebook Group for the show or video. Facebook has also partnered up with content creators like Nas Daily, Buzzfeed and more.

Currently, the service is being rolled out to a limited group of people in the US and they plan to bring it to more people over time. As for content, Facebook is approaching a limited group of creators for now but will allow more people to be part of the platform in the near future.
