Facebook is making its own TV shows and reports indicate it will launch in two weeks

Facebook wants to join the TV industry with the release of Facebook TV which is reportedly coming out in two weeks according to be Bloomberg. Right now, TV partners are already submitting their 5 to 10-minute videos that will act as a pilot episode.

This videos will generate ad revenue with 45% of the total earnings will go to Facebook and the rest back to the content creators. The future the content on the platform will run from 20 to 30-minutes will be owned solely by Facebook and companies such as Group Nine Media, BuzzFeed, ATTN and Vox Media have already signed up to be part of this platform. The platform was originally slated to release in June with delays to be expected, Bloomberg did mention that even if it’s coming in August, we should expect that there might be further delays.

Facebook TV is expected to be the middle tier in the video streaming industry, they will have higher quality production compared to home made YouTube videos. However, is not expected to be on the same level as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and other premium video streaming service.
