Facebook AI chat bots to be unveiled at F8 2016

A little over a week ago, Microsoft unveiled Bot Framework, giving developers a platform to create bots for chat apps, such as Kik, WeChat and so on. This, of course, lessens human interactions and will make things much simpler especially in businesses. Facebook is expected to launch a platform which works similarly to Bot Framework for its own apps.

In October last year, Facebook rolled out M, a personal assistsant which is built into Messenger. It works pretty much like a virtual personal assistant, capable of tasks such as booking flight tickets, suggest restaurants and other things along the same line. While M has proved to be quite capable, it isn’t available to the general public just yet. According to ABC News, chat bots by Facebook will be one of the main highlights at its F8 developer conference coming this Tuesday.

We should be expecting something revolutionary during the conference, since Facebook introduced Messenger Links last Friday, enabling customers to start direct conversations with businesses. Till then, we will be keeping watch while awaiting F8 2016 this week.
