Wireless charging is a feature that many are already embracing, but Energous is a company that make wireless charging even better by allowing you to charge without needing a charging pad.

First of all, Energous already have an RF-based scalable technology (RF stands for Radio Frequency) which allows users to charge their electronics devices in both contacts-based and over-the-air methods. This means if users are actually within the range of the WattUp Wireless Charging Ecosystem which is up to 15 feet, their devices can be wirelessly charged.

However, this technology is already introduced last year, so the big news now is that Energous plans on launching a new DA2223 receiver chip, which will increase the accessibility to their technology. This chip is smaller than the size of a coin, and when coupled with several other components, it can actually fit inside smartphones as a wireless charging receiver. Of course, users will still need to obtain the charging stations in their homes or offices for the wireless charging to occur.

WattUp also can charge devices quicker the nearer they are to the transmitter, and the best part is that the WattUp transmitters can be placed at many locations, and it can charged various kinds of devices.
