E3 to host public event this year

The Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3) has always been a closed-door affair where the general public aren’t allowed to attend. That is sort of changing this year as the hosts of E3, the Entertainment Software Association, has announced that they will be hosting a free public event during the duration of the expo.

Called E3 Live, this free ticketed gathering will run alongside E3 on the 14th of June until the 16th of June. While it isn’t exactly the proper E3 experience, E3 Live is expected to showcase some of the newer games from Ubisoft and Warner Bros.. Hardware seems to be the main focus for E3 Live though as HTC, Oculus, and Alienware will be present at the event.

If you’re hoping for the big names to appear at E3 Live though, you may be disappointed as Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo aren’t among the list of companies that will be present at the event. Hopefully, if E3 Live becomes a success this year, more companies may decide to join in on the festivities next year.
