If you think the Mavic Pro isn’t small enough, then be very wowed by the DJI Spark, the smallest quad-copter drone that only measures as high as a coke can, it weighs a mere 270g, which is probably even lighter than your tablet, and DJI has packed a lot of tech from its more expensive drones into this little bird.
The Spark will cost $499, it has a 12-megapixel camera mounted on a 2-axis gimbal that shoots 1080p videos, obstacle avoidance sensors and intelligent flight controls such as ActiveTrack and TapFly are also available on the drone. The Spark will fly up to 16 minutes on a single charge and has a maximum top speed of 49km/h, which is extremely fast for such a small drone. All of these features will definitely give those so called “selfie drones” a good run for its money, but do note that this is more of a hobby travelling drone rather than used for professional work purposes.
Since this is more of a travelling drone, DJI is making the Spark more attractive by offering the drone in colors of Alpine White, Sky Blue, Meadow Green, Lava Red, and Sunrise Yellow. DJI is also offering a Fly More combo, which will come with additional batteries, a propeller guard, a carrying case and a charging dock, the company is currently accepting pre-orders over at store.dji.com.
