DJI’s Osmo Mobile 3 shames other mobile gimbals with a folding design

If you have been holding off your purchase on a mobile gimbal due to portability issues, its time to turn your heads on the DJI Osmo Mobile 3, as it is the first mobile gimbal that can be folded to be stored in your pocket or bag and weighs as light as 405g, about 20% lighter than its predecessor.

Battery life is still the same great 15-hour mark, the Osmo Mobile has some new tricks up its sleeve, which includes better and faster object tracking with ActionTrack 3.0, a quick roll mode to change orientation to portrait and landscape when you long press on the ‘M’ button without removing the phone, a Sport mode for tracking fast moving activities that’s adapted from DJI’s Ronin series, and up to 8X slow motion shooting.

Instead of using the DJI Go app, the Osmo Mobile 3 will now operate via the DJI Mimo app over Bluetooth 5.0, which comes with a built-in editor that lets you create videos with built-in templates. Also new to the software is gesture detection, where you can point a ‘peace’ sign to your camera to take a selfie, pretty much like the company’s drones.

The Osmo Mobile 3 is now available for purchase from US$105 (RM440) and comes with a storage pouch, wrist strap and anti-slip pads as the standard package. Customer can also opt for the combo package which comes with the Osmo Grip Tripod and Osmo Carrying Case for US$125 (RM125).
