Film makers take note, you can now officially purchase DJI drones in Malaysia, as the drone maker has officially made its footsteps in Malaysia and brought in the Phantom 4, the latest drone that features advanced aerial photography features that takes film making to the next level with minimal effort. In addition, DJI has authorised ECS Astar Sdn Bhd as one of its distributor in selling the Phantom 4, Phantom 3 series drones and the Osmo handheld 4K camera gimbal, DJI products will also be available for purchase at Machines, ALL IT Hypermarket and Lazada starting today.
On first impressions, the Phantom 4 looks like a low profile drone when compared to the Phantom 3 drones with its plain white plastic chassis, however the hardware and software features that comes with is what makes the product truly ground breaking. The Phantom 4 comes with the same 3-axis stabilized 12-megapixel camera with a 1/2.3″ sensor found on the higher end Inspire 1 drone, it will take 4K videos at 30fps and 1080p videos at 120fps. Unlike its predecessor, the Phantom 4 has two front facing optical sensors that detects obstacles and avoids accidental crashes, the drone is able to go as fast as 45MPH, which is very suitable for filming fast moving action footage such as sports.
Probaly the most impressive part of the Phantom 4 would be its Active Track feature, which the software is able to detect and track moving subjects, keeping it at the center frame while following automatically without user intervention, the Phantom 4 also uses an advanced wireless technology that can be controlled up to 5KM of distance, its 5350mAh battery will give it a maximum flight time of 28 minutes, which DJI claims to be 25% better than the Phantom 3.
The DJI Phantom 4 will be available for purchase soon at a SRP of RM6,199, while other DJI products are already available with the following prices:
