Digi and Grab has announced a year long collaboration today in offering an enhanced customer experience. Starting from next month, customers can expect their Grab rides to be even more entertained with an in-car infotainment tablet powered by Digi’s 4G Plus network, which can be used to browse the web and stream HD multimedia content while you make your way to your destination, a concept that is similar to in-flight entertainment works, but on the ground. On top of that, Digi users will now also be able to redeem Grab ride credits from MyDigi rewards, while Grab users can also redeem Digi Prepaid credits with GrabRewards, making this an unrivaled partnership.
For a start, 1000 cars within the Klang Valley area will be installed with the tablet, which will then be rolled out in subsequent stages for Grab Partners who are keen to have the device in their cars. Sean Goh, Country Manager of Grab Malaysia, has also said that Grab partners will also receive extra incentive for installing the tablets in their cars, they also do not need to invest the hardware. Additionally, Grab has also taken the opportunity to announce that exclusive Grab Digi Postpaid plans are in the works to ease the living cost of their drivers.
Digi hasn’t given much details on what type of content will be available on the in-car tablet, there’s also no mention if there would be a charge for viewing certain content, but all we know for now is that the company is working on getting content partners to have their content loaded on to the tablet.
