As CES 2024 draws near, Dell has announced that it will be introducing three XPS laptops powered by 14th Gen Intel Meteor Lake processors. The XPS laptop lineup sees the new XPS 16 and XPS 14, while the current XPS 13 Plus will become the XPS 13.
The new XPS laptops retain the signature minimalist and premium approach, made with CNC machined aluminum glass and a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen, they come in Graphite and Platinum colors, while Dell seems to have settled for the touch function row on all the XPS laptops that feature media and function keys, a seamless glass touchpad with haptic feedback also comes as standard on all models.
All XPS laptops come with InfinityEdge panels with OLED touch, variable refresh rates and high refresh rate options.
Leading the pack, the XPS 16 is an impressive powerhouse that’s powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 CPU and up to a RTX 4070 Laptop GPU, Dell claims a TDP of up to 80W for sustained performance, which makes it ideal for editing videos or running AI workflows.
The XPS 14 offers better portability with a 14.5-inch display and is 21% lighter than the XPS 16, though its CPU configuration remains the same as its bigger sibling, graphics is only limited by up to a RTX 4050 Laptop GPU, though you should get a longer battery life than the XPS 16.
Both the XPS 16 and XPS 14 are NVIDIA Studio-validated systems for running demanding creative tasks.
The XPS 13 should retain its spot as the most popular XPS model for the year, as it weighs merely 1.17kg and customers will have the option to configure up to a 3K+ OLED touch display, the XPS 13 can also be configured with either an Intel Core Ultra 5 or 7 processor, but no discrete graphics option is offered.
Interestingly, Dell Malaysia has already unveiled the starting prices of the new XPS laptops in Malaysia and you can expect them to go on sale by the end February 2024.
The Dell XPS 13 will start at RM5,499, while the XPS 14 and XPS 16 will start at RM8,499 and RM8,999 respectively.
