The D-Link DIR-878 is an affordable AC1900 router with MU-MIMO technology

Its hard to come by decent wireless routers for less than RM700, especially when your household or SOHO does heavy file transfers within the network, you really need one that could handle the network load. D-Link has just announced the availability of the DIR-878 wireless router, which supports AC1900 transfer speeds with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz combined and has a 3×3 MU-MIMO antenna configuration, which helps extend coverage in large households and better wireless transfer speeds in the network.

As usual with most wireless routers, the DIR-878 features four gigabit LAN ports and one gigabit WAN port at the back. Since this is an affordable router, the DIR-878 lacks USB ports which you can’t share storage devices or printers over the network, there’s also no mention of it supporting remote VPN connections like certain routers do, however for homes that merely requires great wireless coverage and good data transfer speeds, the DIR-878 should be capable of delivering that purpose without any issues.

In terms of pricing and availability, the D-Link DIR-878 is already available beginning this month at the price of RM609, do check it out over at your local PC resellers for more details.
