COMPUTEX 2020 cancelled; “rescheduled” to June 1 – 5, 2021

COMPUTEX 2020 is now cancelled; the next COMPUTEX event will be held from June 1 to June 5, 2021 as there are still many factors that might hinder the success rate of this year’s event.

COMPUTEX 2020 cancelled

COMPUTEX is one of the biggest tech trade shows that is held annually and it’s usually held in June. COMPUTEX 2020 was first postponed to September in hopes that the pandemic situation will be over by then, but many countries are still greatly affected by COVID-19 as of now.

Though the Facebook page states that the event is “rescheduled to 2021”, it is basically just another way of saying that there won’t be an event for this year. That being said, cancelling/rescheduling the event is the best move for COMPUTEX right now as there are still countries that haven’t lifted their travel ban.

COVID-19 has greatly affected many industries, including the tech industry; events like MWC are cancelled and smartphone launches became online-exclusive events. This is the ‘new normal’, at least for the next couple of months.
