COMPUTEX 2016: Asus reveals the ZenBook 3

Asus did not neglect its own ultrabooks as the ZenBooks were present at the company’s pre-COMPUTEX press conference. Today, Asus debuted the ZenBook 3, and it is a little package that packs a ton of potential.

As always, the ZenBook 3 retains its small shape. With a thickness of just 11.9mm and weighing in at just 910g, the ZenBook 3 is both thinner and lighter than the MacBook Air. Despite its small size, the ZenBook 3 manages to stuff in a 12.5″ display, all by minimizing the amount of bezel located around the screen. Said screen is also protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 panel, giving the ZenBook 3 some durability.

For components, the ZenBook 3 is an ultrabook that comes with an Intel Core i7 processor, and 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM. For storage, the ZenBook 3 comes with either a 1TB PCIe SSD, or a 512GB PCIe SSD. Battery life on the ZenBook 3 is nothing to sneeze at either as it comes with a 40Wh battery that lasts up to 9 hours. If that isn’t enough, the ZenBook 3 comes with fast charging technology that can charge the battery to 60% capacity in just 49 minutes. Much like the Transformer 2-in-1s, the ZenBook 3 comes with a fingerprint scanner for Windows Hello purposes.

Interested? The 1TB variant of the ZenBook 3 will retail for USD 1,999, while the 512GB variant will retail for USD 1,499.
