ColorOS 12 has been announced today, and among its new upgrades is Omoji, OPPO’s own avatar emoji.
OMOJI
ColorOS 12 is based on Android 12 and has many new features — Omoji is one of them. It features over 200 stylish trends and expressions that can be combined in various ways to create more than 100,000,000 different OMOJIs.
OPPO also uses Face Capture Algorithm that detects 77 facial feature points which are matched against 50 base expressions for subtle facial movement recognition.
In addition to OMOJI, OPPO also introduced new layout designs using 3D icons and Quantum Animation Engine 3.0.
Each widget are designed to move more realistically dependingthe force applied to the simulation. The widgets will also have momentum, meaning they’ll gradually decelerate instead of abruptly stopping when you let go of them.
In short, OPPO is offering a more intuitive experience with ColorOS 12, so it feels closer to reality.
OPPO also optimised its layout to be more optimal for different languages — the new layout is adjusted to fit 67 different languages over 140 countries for a natural experience.
PC Connect
Syncing across devices is also easier; PC Connect lets users connect their Windows desktop/laptop with their phones so that transferring of files are more efficient.
This app will be launched later on in ColorOS 12.1 and can be connected via Bluetooth or QR code.
Even OPPO’s Clone Phone is now upgraded to version 2.0 — instead of using two separate QR codes, only one QR code is needed to connect and transfer data between two phones.
There’s even a data transfer animation so that it’s easier keep track of the transfer progress between phones.
