HP recently introduced the OMEN Transcend 14, a compact addition to its line of thin and light gaming laptops, which comes after the launch of the 16-inch model last year. This new version is proclaimed to be the lightest and most efficient 14-inch gaming laptop in the world, equipped with a sophisticated OLED screen, a sleek frame, and powerful components to meet both gaming and productivity demands.
Weighing at 1.6kg, the device features a 14-inch OLED display that is IMAX Enhanced certified, boasting a 2.8K resolution and a 120Hz variable refresh rate. Audio enhancements include HyperX tuned dual speakers with DTS:X and HP Audio Boost, along with integrated dual array digital microphones. The laptop also offers a sky-printed RGB keyboard without a lattice design, a precision touchpad, and a HP True Vision 1080p FHD IR webcam.
In terms of connectivity, the OMEN Transcend 14 includes a Thunderbolt 4 with 40Gbps USB Type-C (with USB Power Delivery and DisplayPort 1.4), a 10Gbps USB Type-C (also with USB Power Delivery and DisplayPort 1.4), two 10Gbps USB Type-A ports, a HDMI 2.1 port, and a headphone/microphone combo jack. It also supports up to Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
Inside, the laptop is equipped with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPUs, 32GB RAM, and a 2TB PCIe NVMe TLC M.2 SSD. The cooling system has been redesigned to use inbound airflow and a vapour chamber, creating a pressurised zone for efficient heat dissipation through rear vents. HP claims the battery can last up to 11.5 hours, and it comes with a Type-C PD 140W adapter for fast charging.
Additional features include built-in AI with Otter.ai for live transcript and real-time captions, a recording function, and AI-generated notes. The laptop ships with Windows 11 Home, with the option to upgrade. It’s currently available in the US starting at $1,500, in Ceramic White and Shadow Black. However, details about its pricing and availability in Malaysia have not been announced yet.
