The hype in CES this round may be all about flexible displays, AI and 5G, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find interesting retro stuffs on the showfloor.
This is the Super Retro Trio+ by Retro-bit, it offers three cartridge slots that can let you play NES, SNES and Sega Genesis/Megadrive games, which you can flip the switch on the side to activate the respective cartridge slots.
What’s even more interesting is that if you have your game cartridges lying around, the device can actually read them and you can play it just like you do on your old console. Like recent classic consoles we have seen, the Super Retro Trio+ outputs to your TV or monitor via HDMI with a 720p resolution.
Although the device have its own set of proprietary controllers, it supports input for legacy controllers if you still have them lying around in your store. In terms of games, Retro-bit sells its own cartridges in packs, there’s about four collections in their store that retails for US$34.99 (RM143) each.
If you are not interested in swapping cartridges, the company offers the Super Retro-Cade console with over 90 built-in licensed classic games from Capcom, Data East, Irem and Technos,
I’ve personally both consoles at the booth and confirm that the games work extremely well with no graphics and audio sync issues.
The Retro-bit Super Trio+ and Super Retro-Cade are available for purchase at the price of US$79.99 (RM327) and US$69.99 (RM286) respectively over at Amazon, Walmart and directly at Retro-bit’s website.
