CES 2019: KitchenAid Smart Display supports Google Assistant and is splash-proof

A smart device can be rather helpful when you can’t cook without referring to recipes, and KitchenAid is here to make things simpler with its new Smart Display.

The KitchenAid Smart Display is a very common-looking smart screen with noticeable bezels, microphone mute switch and speaker grills. It is rather thick and has a very obvious red tag on its side, and best of all, it has IPX-5 rating that indicates that it is water-jet resistant.

Another unique feature of the KitchenAid Smart Display is that it is powered by Yummly, the recipe search engine that was acquired two years back. Users can perform voice and visual meal planning through the Yummly, and they can even watch step-by-step video instructions to guide them in their cooking.

Incorporated with Google Assistant’s functionality, users can  search for recipes, produce a shopping list and even order ingredients that they need from Google Express. Users can also multi-task by listening to music or watching movies while they’re cooking.

Users can also control the smart devices through voice or touch, and the KitchenAid Smart Display also allows user to control other smart devices that is compatible with Google Assistant.

As of now, the Smart Display is only known to be priced between $200 and $300, but the Lenovo’s Smart Display is priced at $250 so it really all depends on the price difference and the features each devices has.
