CES 2019: HP’s first Big Format Gaming Display sells for a cool RM21,000

Imagine gaming in your living room with a 65-inch display that gives you 4K HDR, 144Hz and G-SYNC, this orgasm is going to cost you a steep US$4,999 (RM20,600) and the first one will ship in February, in the form of the HP Omen X Emperium.

Big Format Gaming Display, otherwise known as BFGD, is NVIDIA’s strategy for introducing the ultimate gaming experience for the living room, all BFGDs are expected to come integrated with the company’s Shield TV experience, which is based on Android TV and will come with Google Assistant support.

HP isn’t the only company manufacturing BFGDs, as we have also seen offerings from Acer’s Predator and ASUS ROG last year. However, HP tries to be different by adding on a matching soundbar with three stereo amps for games and movies on the Omen X Emperium, the display will also have three HDMI 2.0 ports, one DisplayPort, four USB ports which two of them can be used for charging other devices.

While the price may sound really steep for the living room, it is probably more worthy to invest it over a modern flagship TV if gaming is your first priority.
