CES 2019: Acer’s new Swift 7 comes with Thunderbolt 3

Every year, there is always a new champ in the slim laptop competition, Acer is taking the next step forward by introducing the all-new Swift 7 laptop, this 14 incher continues to seduce the road warrior with a slim 9.95mm body and 890g weight, and now sports a bezel-less display that gives it up to 92% of screen-to-body ratio.

The Swift 7 is powered by the Intel Core i7-8500Y Amber Lake processor, memory configurations come in either 8GB or 16GB LPDDR3 RAM, along with storage capacities of either 256GB or 512GB PCIe SSD.

Other highlighted features include two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 3 support, a push-to-open wide-angle webcam capable of HDR, a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button, and a backlit keyboard with a 1.1mm travel distance.

Acer claims the Swift 7 to have up to 10-hours of battery life and uses USB-C for charigng, a trend that we should continue to see coming in ultra portable laptops this year.

As usual, the Swift 7 is expected to come with a premium for all of its portability and features, Acer has listed it from US$1699 (RM7003) in the US and will ship on May this year, however we should also expect a much affordable SKU when it arrives in the Malaysian market.
