CES 2017: Xiaomi announces Mi TV 4, Mi Router HD and Mi Mix White

As Xiaomi continues to widen its presence out of China, the company has attended CES 2017 in Las Vegas and has made three new product announcments, the super slim 4.9mm 4K Mi TV 4, the enterprise grade Mi Router HD, and the white color edition of its concept Mi Mix smartphone. These new products will be showcased at Xiaomi’s booth over at the Las Vegas Convention Centre and we have been very fortunate to be invited by Xiaomi to attend its press conference earlier on.

The Mi TV 4 rocked the show floor by boasting an extremely slim profile of 4.9mm at its thinnest point, if you do some calculations it is actually 30% thinner than an iPhone 7 and 37% thinner than the company’s own Mi Mix concept phone. The Mi TV 4 has no frame around its display and looks simply stunning, Xiaomi managed to achieve this engineering with a modular design, the motherboard is separated from the display and integrates with the TV’s independent sound system.

The Mi TV Bar for the 65″ model provides all the required processing power and inputs to the TV through the Mi Port and Cable, it also helps to eliminate messy wires in the living room and users will save trouble plugging in devices through the back of a typical TV. The Mi TV 4 also comes preloaded with Xiaomi’s PatchWall AI system running on top of Android, which is able to recognize a particular user using the TV and suggest content based on age or browsing history. Lastly, the Mi TV 4 does come with an optional Dolby Atmos Home Theater system that offers an immersive movie watching experience.

Availability of the Mi TV 4 as usual is only made available in China and Xiaomi has remained hush-hush on its actual retail price, it is expected to price below $1500 and will have screen sizes of 49″, 55″ and 65″.

As a leading company in the Internet of Things, Xiaomi recognises the need to provide a reliable network connection to all of its connected devices and has announced the enterprise grade Mi Router HD, featuring an aluminum alloy housing, the router has four powerful MU-MIMO high-gain antennas that deliver speeds of up to 2600Mbps in 802.11ac standard. The Mi Router HD also serves as a NAS server and comes included with storage options of 1TB and 8TB. Again, this great device should only be available in China and will be priced under $500 for the 8TB model and under $200 for the 1TB model.

Lastly, the Mi Mix concept phone gets a new white color model, which is a welcome addition as the white color chassis would really help hide those fingerprints, specs remain the same as its black color sibling and Xiaomi hasn’t announce plans on bringing the Mi Mix to markets outside of China.
