CES 2017: MSI announces new motherboards and peripherals

Laptops aren’t the only things that MSI has refreshed prior to CES 2017 as the company has also brought its refreshed motherboards, as well as some new peripherals, to the Las Vegas event.

For the new batch of gaming motherboards, MSI is looking towards the Kaby Lake processors. As such, the company has updated its GAMING M7, GAMING PRO CARBON and TOMAHAWK line of gaming motherboards to the Z270 designation. Besides support for Kaby Lake processors, MSI’s gaming motherboards will sport features such as the M.2 Shield to protect against thermal throttling on M.2 SSDs, as well as VR Boost to deliver a smooth VR experience.

Much like many other gaming components these days, the MSI gaming motherboards will come with the company’s own RGB Mystic Light system that allows the user to change the colours and effects with a single click of the mouse.

Besides gaming components, MSI will also be making a renewed push into the gaming peripherals market. This will be coming in the form of a gaming headset, a gaming mouse and two gaming keyboards. For the headset, MSI has the upcoming Immense GH70 GAMING Headset that features Hi-Res drivers with virtual 7.1 Surround Sound. Moving on to the mouse, MSI has the Clutch GM70 GAMING mouse that comes with an 18,000 DPI optical sensor. Finally, MSI’s two mechanical keyboards, the Vigor GK80 and the GK70 GAMING Keyboard, will feature a multitude of hotkeys while sporting Cherry MX Switches. All the peripherals mentioned above will support MSI’s RGB Mystic Light system.
